Confidence can be a key indicator of how successful your business will be. People who show up in their businesses with confidence often make more money than those who do not. We’ve all heard it before: confidence is the key to success, but how do we develop that confidence to show up in our businesses the way we’ve always wanted to?
Here are 5 tips to show up more confidently in your business so you can close more sales, earn more money, and lead a generation of change.
1. Show Up for the Role You Want:
You’ve heard it before, show up for the role you want not the role you have, and the same is true for running your own business. If you want to have a six-figure business and be a stellar CEO but you’re currently only making $2-3k a month, make sure you’re showing up in your business the way you would be if you were having $10-20k months. By showing up as the person you are becoming, you are letting your mind and ego know that you intend to get to wherever you’ve set your goal, leaving little to no room for low self-esteem to creep in and steal the show.
2. Take Risks Each Day:
Oftentimes in our businesses, lack of confidence shows itself in the form of us playing small and not taking risks so we can avoid “looking silly” in front of others. It’s time to break that cycle. Each and every day try your best to take one risk, big or small. This could look like sending out a cold-email to a prospective client or finally investing in that coaching program you’ve been eyeing for months. Whatever it is, take at least one per day. Over time, you will become more comfortable taking risks, slowly removing the crippling fear of “failure.” As you’ll have a log of proof that you CAN and HAVE done this before.
3. Take Good Over Perfect:
While we may think that being perfect will help us feel more confident, the truth is getting comfortable with not being perfect is actually what gives us that boost. Perfectionism is a trap a lot of women fall into and it ends up keeping us from moving forward. Remember that risk taking I talked about earlier? Perfectionism will keep you from taking those risks which will ultimately keep you from gaining more confidence. Work on getting used to putting out content that is good vs. content that is perfect. Show up as “good enough” instead of waiting to show up perfectly. You’ll be amazed at how much you accomplish.
4. Reward Yourself for Your Victories: Big and Small
This part is huge! Reward yourself and praise yourself for your victories, both big and small. A lot of people will tell you to write down all of your accomplishments at the end of the day, but I think that can turn into another task on our ever growing to-do lists. Instead, I encourage you to develop a routine to reward yourself in the moment. Maybe it’s giving yourself a round of applause after you do a sales call or perhaps it’s making yourself a cup of your favorite tea to celebrate doing your first instagram Reel. Whatever it is, reward each of those victories as they’re happening. This routine will slowly start to build your confidence as you begin to recognize and immediately give yourself credit for the things you’re achieving each and every day.
5. Find Role Models:
Finally, find some role models that exude the confidence that you want to have. Mimic some of their behaviors. Absorb their content. Reach out and ask them questions. Having role models allows you to visualize the person you are starting to become. This visualization will help catapult you to the confidence levels you’ve been striving for.
Boosting your confidence can seem intimidating at first, but it’s the little things you do each and every day that will mold you into the confident business owner you aspire to be. Take it one step at a time. Even just a month from now you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come.
